Alpha Impulsion expands and moves to Montaudran district in Toulouse

Larger workforce, larger premises

Space propulsion startup Alpha Impulsion is strengthening its presence in Toulouse as it continues to grow, moving into new 430 m² premises in Montaudran, at 55 avenue Louis Breguet. The company plans to rapidly expand its workforce, from 12 employees in early 2026 to 20 in early 2027, with a target of around 40 employees by 2029, in preparation for the first test of its GARNET engine.

Alpha Impulsion is leaving ISAE-SUPAERO’s InnovSpace incubator to move into new premises comprising 130 m² of office space and 300 m² of industrial space dedicated to the assembly, storage and testing of engine subsystems. The new site will play a key role in the company’s prototyping, particularly for the engines scheduled for testing in 2029.

The company intends to use an upcoming fundraising round to invest in its own equipment, establish initial in-house manufacturing capabilities and gradually strengthen its industrial autonomy. The relocation marks an important milestone in expanding its industrial capabilities and deepening its roots in Toulouse’s aerospace ecosystem.

“Alpha Impulsion is continuing to expand across Europe and Toulouse is one of Europe’s major space industry hubs. The region gives us privileged access to institutions, an established industrial network and a highly skilled talent pool. I would like to once again extend my warm thanks to the Supaéro incubator and CNES for the support they provided during this initial phase of our development. Alpha Impulsion is reaching a new milestone and preparing to scale up” said Marius Celette, CEO of Alpha Impulsion.

Founded in 2022 around a patent for autophage propulsion, Alpha Impulsion is developing a technology that changes the game: the rocket’s fuselage becomes the engine’s fuel. During flight, the engine gradually consumes the fuselage until only the engine and the satellite remain. The startup aims to reduce the environmental impact of launches by 60% and launch costs for small satellites by 80%.
