Working with us

Join an international crew tackling unusual challenges to be the first in the world to bring autophage propulsion to life. Humility and respect of each other’s work are our two keywords to achieve our goals. For any member of the team, autonomy and ownership is more than encouraged, it is expected. Consistently with this approach, we are seeking collaborators who are open to continue with a permanent position. If you’re a doer who thrives on challenges, you’ll fit right in.

Your missions

You will take a central role in the propulsion team as Fluid Dynamics Engineer. You will own design elements of the OPAL propulsion subsystem, an in-space mobility solution based on autophage hybrid propulsion, aimed at fulfilling a wide array of missions. You will join a fast evolving project and you will engage in all development activities from preliminary design to testing your components, working closely with the Lead Propulsion Engineer. Your missions will include:
  • Develop the combustion chamber for thermal resilience and its igniter for re-ignitability.
  • Design the injection line, collaborating with experts to ensure proper mixing of propellants and high propulsive performance.
  • Collaborate with the Systems Engineers to ensure that the design implements system requirements.
  • Explore hybrid propulsion enhancement methods and assess costs and integrability to support subsystem level trade-offs.
  • Define the combustion chamber test plan from elementary tests to the first firing of the configuration.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to full spacecraft system integration, including fluidics, structures, avionics and thermal protection.

Your profile

  • Enrolled in the last year of master’s degree or engineering school, you demonstrate a high academic level and knowledge of the domain of hybrid rocket propulsion and fluid dynamics and you wish to apply your skills to real world problems.
  • Creative, curious and independent, you take pride in seeing the fruits of your labour.
  • You have practical experience with the design of rocket propulsion system components with a focus on fluid dynamics and thermal design. A practical experience in CFD is highly regarded, knowledge of the Siemens suite is a plus.
  • Experience in the design of turbomachinery is a plus.
  • You possess a professional level of English. Knowledge of the local language (French or Italian) will be recognised.
